Managed to get hold of a snap on mig 130 turbo.
Needs converting for a proper bottle, a bit of cleaning up, and eventually a euro torch conversion cos the wire feeder is a bit heath robinson'd.
But...

Bit of T Cut, be as good as ............. Well something! Can't go wrong really at that price, doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it works. I seem to remember someone on here got a Chinese industrial sized wire feeder dirt cheap off EBay a while ago.

I spent about six hours reading every thread I could find on it before I bought it.
Worst case, euro conversion kit including a feeder is about £120. Regulator+hose is £38 so £200 total at worst.
Best case - £20 for a 2ndhand hose and reg and it works for ten years until I find another bargain.

4000 years ago they were using that technique to split rock in the copper mine just up the road from here.
Fill the shaft with bracken and heather, set fire to it until the rock is 'hot' and then chuck water down the hole.

Here's an interesting fact, they've found ironware in Ancient Egypt but no smelting experience or evidence. The key is that they harvested it from asteroids and melted it down, but never discovered that it can be made from ore.

Saw needs to be on trolley so I can move it round in the VERY small workshop, I'm going to put some wind down legs on to stabilise. The legs are going to get recycled for the sheet bender which is the next project. In between finishing the patio, 3 motorbikes and getting the business up and running

You could flog them to boy racers as exhaust tailpipe trims!
Bloke I know took a standard back box, cut out one end, removed the packing, welded up the end again & replaced the rusty tailpipes with a piece of stainless dairy tube of whatever silly diameter they wanted. Most of the local boy racers had one of his 'sports' exhausts fitted, he charged £50 each (this was 15 years ago) so he made a mint from a bit of welding & some tube!
