Be careful....I did that on my XC70 and broke the gearbox.

Detergents in the new fluid lifted dirt which broke the solenoids. I managed to fix it by replacing the solenoids but it wasn't fun.

With hindsight I wish I had fitted a magnafine filter before doing the fluid just to catch any dirt...I even did the change 1l at a time .

The XC 70 was a tremendous workhorse, I miss mine for goods carrying.

Lump sum for pension should be in the bank this week and the search starts in earnest.

Maybe too late, you could crystalise enough of the lump sum to buy the car and leave the rest to grow. Or did you have to take the whole 25%?

I am lucky, local government pension: the lump sum is part of the deal, no reduction in pension.

I think on the Metro 6R4 it was only the badge and door handles that was shared with the shopping car.

I think it had 30 odd parts off a bog standard metro. It got tested in Eskdalemuir forest when I was working there. We were allowed to watch. Got chatting to the mechanics and Malcolm Wilson
