Some time back (umm, over 20 years!) i bought an rd 125 lc. The one that was superseded by the TZR125.
At the time, i had the required licence to drive it, but never did. I purchased it as a runner with a bent fork, replaced that, dropped it off for mot and they said they couldnt get it to start...
And then some stuff happened (unrelated car RTA, ventilator, brain damage, recovery time etc) and its been moved round barn to barn for the past 20 years!
So it would have gone down hill, but probably not terminally.
Anyway, I've got to move it from where it is currently, and I'm wondering what to do.
Realistically, if I'm going to spend time on a vehicle, it will be one of my land rovers (as has been the case for years). I think the RD, whilst achievable, will just never really get to the top of the list of things to do. It hasn't in the past 20 years.
I'm certain that to pay someone else to sort it out would be more expensive than just going and buying a runner off ebay. Not that i think there (was) loads wrong with it, but its been 20 years!
Oh, and the killer - I've lost the log book (which is in my name). And this was all before SORN, and i have no idea of the reg (but have the chassis number, not that the DVLA are any help)
I've just looked on eBay completed items, and shiny ones are £3k now...
Sadly, i guess, unless anyone can tell me otherwise, its probably eBay with a penny starting bid and leave it at that, right?
Id still like to sort it out, and, with nothing else going on in my life, i think it would be entirely achievable, but i think if ive owned it (albeit very remotely - long distance from the storage) 20 years, and its not happened yet, I've got to admit defeat, right?
(im almost looking for someone to talk me out of selling it, but i feel there is no sensible reason for me not to do so - i have more projects than ill complete in my lifetime as it is!)
Oh, and its a mk3, with the deactivated power valve, so one of the more desirable ones... but still, its been in a barn for 20 years!
