Workshop double door security

So I'm in the middle of building my own so called workshop/man cave.
I've got a 1800mm wide entrance so I can pull my go kart in fully built up.
Now I've decided on double doors as I thought the weight of a single steal door might pull the piller over a period on time and it would take up less space when open.
Now here's the questions...

1. Are double doors better due to the size 1800mm x 2100mm.

2. Which way to hinge is the best, I know hinging inwards makes the hinges more secure but the door then take space inside.

3. What kind of hinge to use.

4. What's the bet way to secure them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm excited about building them, fabrication is my kind of hobby time.

Saw a very good idea couple of weeks ago. Shabby looking wooden doors (suggesting nothing of much value inside), and second door inside made out of solid steel bars.............

No, but pretty easy to do something along the same lines.

If you make the doors open inwards, you know you'll always have enough room to actually get inside. (unlike my shed )

do you have enough room to make sliding doors?

why not a roller door, as long as youd have about 15" of clear space above the top of the door it would fit.

Cheapest i could find in steel not ali was http://www.auto-roll.com

Sure there are others, easy enough to fit, quite robust, mines bare galvanised steel. No frills. Only as good as your side fixings though. If its your only access, id get manual with the pin type locks, no motor, as used in security shutters.

Regardless of what door you fit, if they want in, they will be in i also have two of these that help with security.

they arent the cheapest option, making your own are cheaper no doubt but any door i have to fit in the new here is a roller door, so much simpler and tidier and out of the way.
there is different types you can get, from light garage type ones to domestic/commercial type to industrial ones and insulated types.
all depends on how deep your pockets are but in the run of it the lighter type one could be got here for about £350 odd, the heavier one would be £5-600 at a guess and an insulated one depends on the thickness.
i recently purchased and fitted a 8'x8' 20mm insulated door here with two fobs and a wall controller for €1,000.
fitting was €250 so i did it myself, altho youd be better let them do it there, i had a forklift.

10mm rebar is standard round here.

or 13mm x 3mm chs with a 240v live wire down the centre (slow blow fuse)

you can make them lockable if needs be.

i worked in a place one time and when they got broke into they just screwed the sheet off the door and walked through.
the next day there was 10' high of scrap metal sheet welded on the inside of the door, they had to use a forklift to open them after that.

but like that, even if the door is bomb proof, unless its into a concrete bunker then there are plenty of other ways in too.

dont get me wrong tho, im all for securing something as best as possible.

my shed doors on either shed is a double fire escape door set from a factory that i got cheap ive taken photos of them as ive cut one up the other ive left alone

I was in chapel town about 10 years ago and heard a bit of noise outside where I was staying. Some "chaps" had broken into the next door house and couldn't get the TV through the window pane so we're busy smashing the frame out to get the TV through. There was about 5 of them. They politely asked me to ef off inside, guess what ? I did exactly as they wished and called the cops
