You can have doors that open outwards with internal hinges, one way to do it is to use a pivot pin on the inside at the top and bottom of the door going into the floor and the top of the doorframe.

A friend of mine had an industrial unit with a plywood back door opening out into fields. A couple of neighbouring units were broken into and it was only a matter of time so we made an angle frame on the inside of the reveal and welded up a door from 8mm chequer plate. It fitted tight to the frame so there was not room to get a bar in. A couple of weeks later he went round the back and sure enough the outer door was in tatters but the steel one was unmarked.

I bought a 10'x9' commercial grade electric roller shutter with frame work make to my spec and an all steel personnel door and frame with remote for roller. 550quid.

After reading the replies and thank you very much as well, I've decided to leave the roller door idea as I would prefer the challenge of welding my own doors and frame from scratch.

What would the best way to lock them secure.

My favourite is to have a sealed lock box on the inside of the doors accessed by a pair of hand holes on the outside of the door.
You lock and unlock the padlock by feel with no chance of getting any tools onto it.
Just don't lose the key!

I make my own with quality mortice locks. Roller shutters are easy to bust
Window bars are a requirement as far as I am concerned
If you make doors open out you need dog bolts into the frame

Not sure I want to give away much on my security but it's secure

I thought doors opening out would be more secure to drilling and smashing through as you can plate the outer edge to over hang the opening or is that incorrect?

Not with you on that are you saying create a rebate on the inside and have the doors open out? That can't work
The reason out opening doors are less secure ( in steel at least) the hinges are exposed to attack - but if they are not then yes it's harder to pull than push a forced entry

Pretty good at dishonest ones also depending what you use
Worst case scenario you slow a thief down - is it better to not have a lock at all - doubtful! it's more a case of not giving the thief easy targets as anyone who is not bothered about being caught given time can get into anything
No lock or no approved type lock generally means no insurance though

No lock is perfectly secure -
It doesn't have to be - all you need is to make your shed less tempting than the one next door.

I did this by having my shed surrounded by hawthorne hedges, then an 8ft wall, then the shed itself was a pair of steel portacabins.
The only access to the door was by walking through the dog pen - and my dog didn't like strangers near her food dish - or the smell of smackheads. (she once chased the local smackhead/burglar up a tree, she got a reputation after that.

Next door's garage was broken into five or six times - mine was never touched.
