Polystyrene might be cheaper but will burn/melt if on fire and probably wont meet any building regs.
you may as well take the glass out the fixed side window now as you will have to do it anyway to screw the thing in. I think eurocell windows state the mounting screws need to be 150mm minimum away from the corners of the frame and on a house you would want a minimum of 3 fasteners per side to meet some kind of regulations.
Polystyrene, used that before, but the fire risk is a worry, especially in a wooden shed where I will weld occasionally.
I have no idea how to take the glass out properly, as the lock strip seal thing needs some special tool I think. I've done one before, with a chisel and screwdrivers. It got messy....
I can screw it the frame from the outside, it is only a garden shed at the end of the day.
However, I have our local UPVC company changing some blown window glazing panels in my house some time today, so I may have a word with them.
