Off to the ex wife’s today, she has broken slate all over her garden, so I shall fill a bag.

I’ve done a little tidying around the garden, fitted the trim to the shed window, laid some slabs some sleepers, some gravel, to try and tidy it for this year. I shall have a good think about what to do with these messed up slabs.

Little gangway over the gravel, to my storage shed.



This is where the wheelchair ramp used to be, so I laid a slab walkway and gravelled there too.



Combi boiler drain needs to come through this wall, into the soakaway I dug. Old storage heater thermal bricks were utilised to tidy it up, they need a wire brush...



Window trimmed.



More gravel and sleepers, either a bench or a barbecue will live in this space. I may hit the slabs with concrete cleaner again, try to brighten them all up a bit.

Got my lathe and drill press set up. I bought the lathe last year, but the drill was acquired in the Philippines 25 years ago, and has travelled to/from there to the U.K. 3 times, and through ten different sheds, over the years, through marriage and then divorce, and is still one of my most useful tools.

Thanks. Got a sparky coming tomorrow to see about finalising all the wiring.

Then need to paint the front garage white, put away more junk, tidy up more, sort out the junk shed....bring the hot rod round from dads.... and it will all be finished.

Wiring done this morning, nice and quick and painless. He reckoned I had made a very good job of the part that I had done, as I had expressed that I was a bit worried no 'trade' likes to take on half done work. He wasn't phased, said he would check it over anyway, and found nowt wrong with any of it.

Pah, daughter has abandoned me, scurried off to seek higher education in some town made famous by Robbing Hood.

Comfy corner, not got anything to fix, or make, so I just sit and absorb that man cave ambiance we all know and love.

The hoist etc will be evicted soon, hopefully keeping some floorspace in case I do get a project.





Front garage got painted and cleared out, hot rod should be coming home Monday if all goes to plan, after ‘two weeks storage’ at my dads in February.

I’ve installed a Ventaxia fan in the back wall, opposite the window, theory is that with the window ajar it will draw air across the room so any smelly, smokey work won’t choke me out. It moves a lot of air.

I have one of the portable gas heaters that were popular back in the 80’s, but there is so much insulation I think a small leccy fan heater will be ample. Even body heat warms the place up in a short time.

I'd forget about that, they are notorious for creating moisture as they burn. I gave mine away just recently.

EDIT: Looking at your second pic above, I couldn't help but wonder where your other angle grinders are....

One is a grinding wheel, one is a 1mm cut off wheel, t'other is a flap disk.

I spent enough years swapping discs back and forth repeatedly when building stuff.

I think there are a couple of spares in the cupboard under the bench, just in case, y'know...

Best laid plans of mice and men.... I have a shed, and a new workshop and a nice brick garage....

.....but the bike has broken down and needs to be worked on out in the cold and wind, due to bad planning. The hot rod is disabled, blocking access to the garage and back yard.







Bike was soon fixed, Paralever bearings needed tweaking up, so it lives to fight another day, hope to get over the channel again next year.
