I've always been told, take the chute off for towing. Would make a mess if it came off down the motorway!

Red coloured wood, or redwood from sequoia?
I could likely get a large slice of fresh leylandii that you could dye red

Apologies. Been sidetracked today, plus I've got a crap memory. Definite weights, can't say. However, both hopper & chute readily liftable. I assembled it alone. Rough guess, between 15kg to 25kg apiece. The hopper is awkward due to size more than weight. Wheels, a good size, so roughly double a sack truck type wheel. I'd say max. 10kg per wheel.

I may be way off with those, however.

I suspect said tower of the chipper won’t do it again, luckily on a single track road.
I phoned round most local tree surgeons to see if they wanted it back but no one owned up to losing it…
