I've always wanted an engine made in Birmingham and last year I got one, built by the Wolseley Sheep Shearing Machine Co. Ltd in Witton, Birmingham.
Engine No. 7497 dispatched to W. J. Cooper in Newport Pagnell on 4th June 1945
First job was to remove the Gib key to release the flywheel
Removed the cylinder head and it didn't look too bad with no play in the piston
Cleaned up nicely
The head itself which also acts as radiator for engine cooling also looked good
