I recently found a 300mm main earthing cable "crimped" with what looked like a hammer and bolster! It was on a 800 amp supply and yes it did wobbble a bit....

fftopic:We have a overheads supply with crimps between the down cable from pole and tails into the loft, few years ago we had lots of dimmig and voltage fluctuation in the wind and rain. DNO came out and decide it was one of the joints, the repair method was:- ask us to turn on as much as possible then they turned off the main isolator then one flicked the switch back on while the other twisted the joint with water pump pliers and 1000v gloves then wrapped it in black tape. Not had a problem since.

Would the cables from the cu not be set in the wall to the switch? coz you hav'nt changed the switch position and therefore they do not need extending and it is the only the cables from the switch to the light that need extending ?

it is the whole wiring loom so to speak that is nearly every circuit in the house

What about the wago terminal less din rail stuff in a enclosure for the lighter circuits, compliant and compact and fast.

That'll do it, looks like you can fit a few circuits into one box.

not really 2 circuits max in that box I think

keep it simple. a decent cheap box will get at least 5 circuits in it using barrel connectors and still have ample room. its just a joint box. why make a mountain out of a molehill. its a good job u don't have to sort out wiring in a large supermarket where all the wires go through a 6 x6 trunking filled to the top with singles cable. then u will feel sick

ideal but don't buy there crimps or connectors or the screwfix ones there crap and come loose .as I said I use the swa make and there a lot harder to crimp the others are soft crap and easy to crimp .when u have fitted them give the cables a good pull just to check it has crimped properly and wont pull out
