I've happily sprayed guitar bodies with a 2HP / 25L compressor like this (not this exact one, but they're generic):

(Again, not that exact one, but something very similar.)
I imagine that the projects you're looking at would have similar requirements. (If you can afford / have space for a compressor with a bigger tank, then that would be a worthwhile upgrade.)

Tbh I don't know lvlp guns and all my painting is on cars so the other of the spectrum. But generally the smaller guns (say 125ml cups as above) will be better for you. Maybe do a YouTube search and see what people are using now for smaller pro finishing?
(I normally go for devilbiss in one form or another - established company great spares backup, great finshes and not eye wateringly expensive - eg their flg5 is hvlp and only needs around 11cfm, available with 1.4 tips for clear but it's a full size gun. Idk if they do mini guns). Brand is so good they're much copied by the chinese selling cheap look alikes. Beware! Guns are a book in themselves though so you need to research.)
Don't ignore PPE though - also a book in itself practically. For smaller projects you can build an extracting booth but use full face mask (I use genuine 3M full face masks - again copied by Chinese selling cheaper versions branded as 3M!)
