Be interesting to see if they're all like that is all...
When I need to mount the fixture (which will be flat across both feet), I'll measure it properly in order to make the correct shim, I suspect I won't be using the blocks either, now that I've been advised against it..

I reckon a previous owner has ground / milled / scraped away the evidence of damage for cosmetic reasons.

Scraped the chuck end today - those camel back things should come with a warning " likely to eat your day up"..
Well half a day anyway.... It had some chuck damage, and a bit high at the back, but essentially flat.

Ive had all sorts of fun with my Chipmaster trying to find reference surfaces, led me up the path a good few times thinking I had seriously messed up alignment!
