On the inside of the helmet where the cradle is mounted, there should be the means to set how far down the shield drops when you lower it. You should see a small peg and a piece of plastic that looks a little like a fishtail with several small holes in it - that's the means to adjuist the drop.not sure if there is much adjustment to the cradle except tightening it
I find that even with a double fluorescent light on the wall above, I need much more light on the weld to make the joint you’re following easy to see, even with a high end 3M helmet. I have a 50w extending office led lamp that I position right over the top of the weld and this helps a lot.
It’s an led array made specifically for the lamp; it is very bright, about 9 inches by 3.As a matter of interest, what type of bulb is in the lamp? A 50W 6000K LED is very bright, a 50W incandescent is not.
Thanks
Jack
Maybe you need a cheater lens?Hi yes wear my reading glasses and can read well when it's not activated.
I replaced my old florescent lighting to the same led lights in work didn't work got an esab sentinel, didn't work the worst is outside corners I've now come to the conclusion at 48 my eyes are going, I struggle to read the numbers on my bank card when doing bank transfers etc, most times in work I can see better with my old esab warrior than I can with the sentinel at home I'm tempted now and then to try an optrel crystalcan you read the small print on a legal document to start with comfortably , or even a phone book . ??
yes I know phone books are nearly a mythical object these days ,,, but you get the drift . If you cant easily see small things in daylight , you wont be seeing well enough to weld easily , and welding by braille isnt really an option.
go to the opticians ,,, thats the starting point ,,, at least get an eye test as a starting point ,,,,I replaced my old florescent lighting to the same led lights in work didn't work got an esab sentinel, didn't work the worst is outside corners I've now come to the conclusion at 48 my eyes are going, I struggle to read the numbers on my bank card when doing bank transfers etc, most times in work I can see better with my old esab warrior than I can with the sentinel at home I'm tempted now and then to try an optrel crystal
