I bought a GYS mig welder and a cheap £30 welding helmet.
I find it very hard to see what I am actually welding all the time.
So I bought some new LED lighting for my workshop and a LED work light to brighten things up.
But I still find it hard to see where I was going once the helmet darkens. Sometimes I'd weld and miss the actual joint!
Seems I'm welding blind most of the time.
So I bought another welding helmet £100 and thought it would be the solution but it's a little better but still hard to see.
With the LED lighting if I look up at the lights it darkens too which is a bit strange when it does it without warning and you become blind for a few seconds.
I watch videos on youtube and sort of know what I should be doing but trying to actually do it in the dark is very hard.
where am I going wrong?
thanks
