Quite a few do get used. And I know quite a few people with polished ones that do get used for work. But then I know a few new defenders and discos used to drag diggers around. That's using it properly as a work tool...I can't ever remember seeing one with stuff like that in the back.
Mostly I see crew cabs with load covers and nicely polished...but I do live in London!
I can't see the point of having a crew cab pickup, the bed ends up stupidly short. Better off getting an old boxy Volvo, loads of room and comfortable.
Aren't the newer pick ups just a tax benefit thing not a serious work vehicle.![]()
...you forgot about the dog(s)...back seat is ideal for them....Crewcabs have their uses, still ok as a tow barge and a very good wagon for the cutters. Saws, clobber, fuel and oil in the back leaving the cab niff free.

I never knew they existed, never seen one despite spending some time in South America.
Heard an advert on the radio the other day talking about "our biggest ever Mini!" without any hint of ironyI used to run a diesel s10 4x4, that seemed big at the time, size wise its about on par with the latest offerings here. That said everything has grown, look at the old mini vs new.

Looks like the Taco is an amazingly massive 2" wider, and another massive 2" longer....The bed on the new Hilux is the same size as the last 2 generations and considerably bigger than the ones before that.
The Hilux is not the best space wise but still the whole vehicle is considerably larger than it's ancestors
Tacomas are considerably larger than a Hilux.
Truckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
It really depends. A mate has a Ranger Raptor because he's got back into deer stalking big time. The boot on that is a decent size but that's because the vehicle is huge, it's 7ft wide for Pete's sake.I can't see the point of having a crew cab pickup, the bed ends up stupidly short. Better off getting an old boxy Volvo, loads of room and comfortable.
