A 1hp motor is a 0.75kw motor. Hp and Kw are measurementa of power. It's like arguing a foot and a metre are not measurements of distance, or a gallon and litre are not measurements of volume, or a pound and a kilogram are not measurements of mass etc. HP is just the old measurements and kW is what is typically used now but they are interchangable as they measure the same thing.
