Iv looked everywhere trust me this gient is for meThat steel looks really ropy i think you'll get better results if you grind it. 130quid eh is this just for the machine?
130 amps will weld 3mm but you will be stretching it's duty cycle. Maybe a used 160 amp might give you a bit to play with and comfortably cover your requests of it. I'll keep an eye out if you like
I found that metal in my gardenGrandad has lashed out no expence spared on that steel.
Does he go fishing down by the canal by any chance ?
You'll be surprised at how much you will struggle on 3mm steel with that but sounds like you've made your mind up so good luck.Iv looked everywhere trust me this gient is for me

The machine won't struggle it has a 60% duty @120 amps and that's maxed out only goes up to 120Why what?
The machine will weld 3mm steel to a degree and probably good enough for a work bench but it will be close to been maxed out which it won't be too happy about.
My bike hits the rev limiter at 13000 rpm which it will do but if I rode it around every where at 12000 rpm eventually it will die.
So I change up a gear. Same with a welder if it spends it's working lifetime on it's max capacity it will die especially a cheap one so you need to get one that will do your optimum thickness at a comfortable part of it's range and the odd daft blast on occasions.
