Yet your first post states you are new to welding?
It does seem a bit fishy...advising on an R-tech ac/dc tig on another thread.
Yet your first post states you are new to welding?
17how old are you now then?
I would prefer mig or flux coreYou have to grow a mustache like that first, its the law.
Get one of these off eBay, they go for less than a nasty Chinese aluminiun winding horror, and are superb AC transformers, that weld like a dream.
I know most of thisOK, arc can be very frustrating for the novice. its often sneered at by some, but its not that easy, and its the tough all weather, out in the cuds get it done process.
Its not good for indoors
its tricky on light-sub 3mm steel
you need to keep the rods dry and away from damp storage-not normally a big problem though.
You will find it tricky after MIG because MIG lets you get away with most angles, arc requires you to get the angle and travel speed right, plus you have to feed in as you travel-its no big deal, but its not as easy as MIG.Plenty of advice on the net though so have a google on stick or MMA.Plus, click on the Arc in the green band at the top of the page.
For info, I was a top stick welder in my yoof, now I weld TIG, MIG and oxyA and sometimes drag my arc set out. I make some right farmers welds with the arc set despite my experience-takes me a day or so to get back to satisfactory(for me) results.
Think I would choose a Clarke over the other one. Also, the cheaper ones are transformers (often called buzzboxes). Nowt wrong wi em, pretty solid kit, but will be AC usually so check your rods are suitable as inverters have taken over and can run DC rods.Cheaper sets may have fixed leads so no choice-but that needs checking as I have not had or used a buzzbox for many many years now.
might find this usefull I found it difficult to follow at times, but useful info in there.
I did this with migI would prefer mig or flux core
Oh sorry , i saw the words "easy arc " in your post and assumed.I would prefer mig or flux core
I would prefer mig or flux core
I have been interested in welding for 2 years by that I mean looking at videos and learning about it I got advise from welding tips and tricksI think I will bow out of this one:
You are new to welding... yet been doing it for 2 years.
You are new to arc... yet already knew the answers someone gave
You have never welded... yet ask for opinions on your welds and advise elsewhere on a MIG
You ask about buying an arc set... yet after advice state you prefer a mig.
Not suggesting any of the mixed information you are providing is intentional but it's coming across in a way that makes it difficult for anyone to advise you.
He might be 15 1/4.Yet your first post states you are new to welding?
