Which cavity waxes are you using?

Hi guys

I'm looking to buy some cavity wax. What do you lot use? Cost effectiveness is needed as I've got bloody loads to buy in the next couple weeks!

Bilt hamber, noxudol and dinitrol are the 3 that spring to mind.

They are NOT cheap but they are cost effective.

Do not cheap out on cavity wax, it will only bite you in the future.

And under no circumstances use waxoyl, it's tripe and should be removed from the market.

The noxudol 900 looks like you get a fair bit for the money (£27 for 5l), but just comes in a tin. What would I use to get it up my sills and pillars etc?

I buy the aerosol cans with injection lances.

I've been a little disappointed by Dinitrol cavity wax, I tried it after my source of 3m dried up.

When the cans run out I'll be going back to 3m

Like lots of things in life, mileage may vary :-)

I'd definitely warm it to get penetration into seams and make sure its bone dry before application. Also if you can gain access use a hot air gun to warm it so it flows right into seams. Thats not needed with the 3m stuff.

i do love 3m gear i used the 3m underseal a few months back much better than waxoil i am converted

its dries out, cracks and then traps moisture behind it.

I used to use Waxoyl years ago but these days I use Bilt Hamber Dynax S50

Dinitrol for me. Great stuff.

Dinitrol, comes out top on the tests in the classic mags.

It comes top in a fairly limited sample size.. I'm always suspicious of magazine reviews, particularly where those products are then advertised extensively in those same magazines.

A lot of these products become 'internet famous' - Dinitrol underbody wax is fine, I used it on 'er indoors brand new Freelander but there are other cavity products available and having used them a fair bit .. there *are* better products available.
