Not going to get a whole lot for that, chuck another 100 on and you’ll get something halfway useable

If you don't mind noise, a underlever single shot will be your cheapest bet.
A real cheap one will be £30 and will still drop pigeons.

It might have the power to drop them, but the likelihood of actually landing an accurate shot with it is miniscule

50 sovs might buy u a cheap foreign gun with open sights and couldn't knock the skin of a rice pudding . double your budget and your at a reasonable entry level I spend more than that on half decent sights

Another thing to consider is the possibility that they will bring licencing in as well as they did this side of the boarder I had to get a licence before I could bring my gun north when I moved up here

I had Hawke a few years ago - about £250 quids worth IIRC? It was OK- but it taught me that I prefer smaller, lighter ones - who'd have thought a bit of glass would be so individual.

See so many overscoped air guns my favourite was the guy at a HFT comp with probably close to 2k of feinwerkbau target gun and somewhere similar worth of leupold scope on top. Under the rules of hft you can’t adjust focus etc once you begin your first shoot. He had left his parallax set at 80m and, given the max range on the shoot was 40m, could focus on anhthing

I would never have bought it for my air rifle but since my brother couldn't get on with it on his 223 and gave me it it would have been rude not to you can adjust your sight with the balistic turetts on the top and side and the magnification on it is 6-24x50

I have a tasco scope on my hw 77 underlever I paid 120 quid for the lot. put a new spring and seals in it got it chronied and its spot on 12 psi. I can drop pigeons at 60 yards no probs with it

I do like a good weirauch. I pulled a hw80 out of the bin at a school friends house (daddy was a millionaire), put a new cocking arm shoe in and it was spot on. Ended up rebuilding it fully with Teflon piston and ox mainspring, was scarily over power when I chrono’d it at the range. Sorted it and ended up giving it to the ex’s little brother as he wanted to get into shooting. Bet it hasn’t been out of the cabinet since

Slimboyfats scope sounds like a Mildot one which would be ideal.

I had to Google that - if mine IS a Mildot, it's at the lower end of the market, i.e. basic

Won't they just continue as at present, i.e. renew when due?

I surrendered my pistol to the Police just before the end of the 'armistice' because I wasn't prepared to pay the £86(?) they wanted for the licence, and couldn't be hacked with all the paperwork as I only did target practise.

Ahh scopes, buy the best you can afford. Scopes are all pretty much of a muchness in good light. It’s in poor conditions where cheaper scopes show their real failings. I would spend 2k on a scope if I thought it would gain me an extra quarter of an hour daylight at each end of the day. So far the most I have spent is 1600 on a schmit and bender. Two and a half times the price of the rifle! It wasn’t an all singing all dancing scope, no parallax adjustment, no illuminated reticle, no tactical turrets. Simple 3-12x50 mildot scope. You don’t need all the crap on a scope that the sales rep tells you that you must have. There is a lot to be said for keeping things simple
