What's this 'Art' worth do you think??

My missus can draw and paint. In fact some of the stuff is incredible and she has had drawings on show in famous places here and abroad. The things people want to buy are "conceptual". She did a Bowler Hat, a Brolly and a copy of the times on the day the 2009/2010 banking recession was announced. She covered the hat in a jigsaw of a circus............and called it "bring in the clowns" or something similar. She could have sold 20 of them.

Sorry Al but that's ********. I came home tonight to find the painter had walked emulsion out of the house, and spread it all over the drive.

It made me think, and for sure it got a reaction, I pity the painter when I see him tomorrow morning, I'll art him

His reaction was gained unintentionally so its not Art.......its an Insurance Claim methinks

nah, the term is its an "installation", in this case one that extends out the front door and out on to the drive, it needs a title, how about "A drip with a drip" any other suggestions?

Pull your foot out and leave your boot up there and entitle it retribution/education/informal complaint or whatever, print photos in grainy black n white and you might have a winner.

As for value, well, art has no intrinsic value so it's worth what people will pay. Most work by 'celebrity artists' is bought by investors or others (with more money than they're safe with) looking for bragging rights.

And if I sound a little bitter and twisted...

'Is it art?' ...well, art is what artist's do. So yep, sadly it is.

We don't want to know about your private life, just do a sculpture You have to think up an obscure name for it though or it will never sell. I'm going for something deep and meaningful like "dog banjo monkey stall"
