Whats it worth ?

I cleared out a school workshop a few years back of all the big dangerous machine type things!! Paid an electrical mate for the day to disconnect and make safe so the kids didn't kill themselves,then paid a machinery moving firm for the day to shift it all to a container which i rented for a month. Did some house keeping on the machinery myself to remove some grime and stuff, then sold them slowly over the months rental. 3 x lathes (M250x2,M300 longbed) 1 x mill, 3 pillar drills, linisher, couple of bench top CNC machines, grinders, plus a few other misc items....didn't even take up a full curtainsider...Most I had to lift was a cup of coffee to my lips and the wedge of cash to the middle man. The machinery movers insurance etc covered the equipment during uplift & transit. So for a bit of faffing around at short notice, phone calls etc, and a tight deadline to stop the local pikey weighing it all in,it worked out quite nicely, shall we say Might be worth some enquires around your way?.....just an option

Had an offer of 2.5k for lathe and bridgport still trying to sell as joblot but if not im thinking £500-600 for the victroria V2 and really for its age its in good shape mostly only used with the tool thats in it


I guess the drills we could unbolt and sell without bases for £100-150 each ? 2 are geared head

I doubt it was a gift. Probably more like fair market value with a bit in reserve should the new owner wish to thin down the haul and return some of their investment.

The main thing is both parties are happy with result but ive now got to help move them out of the workshop as forklift can only lift them when out of the door. I think lots of lengths of scaffold tube might be one way or my pallet truck and some skates either way will put pictures up when we get started. Victoria mill will be fun as its 1.7 ton.

Another friend has asked me help her clear her husbands garage out after he passed a few years back its like alladins cave im going to start another thread in the brew room I think as its all sorts of stuff and I have some idea of value but I dont want to see her ripped off. Theres 4 cars (1 Etype) and 12 60s Lambrettas in bits just for a start shes talking about auction but I think that should be last resort

Regarding the vehicles, I think well advertised you’ll achieve the best prices on eBay. A lot of people look for vehicle specific stuff on eBay.

What about contacting Mathewsons, the crowd from 'Bangers & Cash' on the telly? If she's in no immediate hurry to clear out, it might be best to wait until the pandemic is under control [if ever ] to get the benefit of a 'live audience' at the auctions, rather than online only bidding?

Im not sure about ebay for this one they are very rare cars but need a lot of work as the guy died while putting them back together

Its a 1968 series 1.5 FHC 3.8l , it looks in good condition but need to clear stuff thats around it

They don't televise every collection and subsequent sale of vehicles for auction, and if she said she didn't that I'm sure they respect her wishes.
