I think the rules must have change because i sold loads of stuff on here for a friend when he moved workshops 2 years ago

Tbh id rather sell it all for him as a job lot to someone parting it out will take ages, im going to take some more pictures tomorrow

ok i might do that, ive 2 people interested in the whole lot now but if that doesnt come off in next few day we will need to start parting it out. If not hes calling the scrap man for the machines at the end of the month

god that's drastic bloody shame when someone has to get rid of all there gear then someone gets it all and cleans up selling it on at a fat wedge

Theres a lot of hard graft and time emptying another mans workshop if it involves big mills and lathes all with risks..only takes a knock on a main leadscrew or crack a corner of a casting coming through a tight door to render a machine pretty much scrap as regards to re-selling. If you have never bought and cleared a full workshop then all the above means nothing to you, but the ones who know will know what ime on about. Having said that there could be a gold mine to the right person and i say good luck with the sale and purchase

am assuming time scale is a lot on bigger stuff

10 year ago a lady husband passed away she was left in a big house with 30 motor cycles 15 cars (poss more on the cars ) tools

she called in the auction house listed each item on no reserve and sold the lot

i think the problem was big house big bills small income with out his input she could have lost a big if it took a year to flog the lot at good prices

Spent a day getting the Colchester lathe and power hammer more or less. Someone had ripped the power hammer out and ducked it.

the lathe from the school was another one. 4 hours to remove.
Very quickly it can become unprofitable. The Colchester and the Bridgeport I would probably look at keeping.

Yep i also learnt many times the hard way..these days Brad i tend to think longer before throwing my hand in the air for big heavy purchases

I think that is a realistic and generous offer considering the distance, I would see it at about that and I am a lot closer.
