What would you convert into a camper?

When I was in France during the summer, 2 Dutch registered Maguires Duetz 1940s Fire engines came onto the campsite both converted to campers. Apparently they were given to Holland as reparation for the occupation. The Dutch were off to the Med, must have taken forever to get there. On another site, there was a Dutch Citroen H van made into a camper. There is quite a old camper fraternitity in Holland so they said. I think I will stick to my Transit though
