What woods this ?

If it is teak, which can look that pale freshly planed, it will smell strongly, a rich tobacco king of pong. I made a kitchen out of reclaimed teak once, and that looks like teak to me. The bottom picture has white in the grain, that is teak or mahogany.

On the other hand it looks a bit Elm'y , though Elm usually had little knots in it. Certainly the right colour for Elm. Elm doesn't pong. The middle picture has a few little knots. You don't get then in Teak.

Iroko is reasonably priced now, I bought 6 cube about 3 years ago and it was about £38 a cube, it's teak that is like priced like gold.

It does burn lovely on the fire though. That oil gets it going great.

Before anyone gets excited it's a bag of offcuts. Nowt bigger than 6" square and an inch thick.

Thats only a small portion of different types of wood,there's tropics woods,american woods, etcetera.

I am aware of this, are you offering any constructive addition to the question in the first post or just telling me there are more woods than shown on that website ?

Second vote for Walnut, it does fade to that sort of colour, best thing is to scrape a section back to see the real colour.

It most definately is not Iroko or Teak!

While I am on the wood bandwagon, does anyone know how much 150 x 40mm PAR European Oak is worth a meter. I have phoned a few of the local sawmills and the prices they are quoting are silly money.

Thanks, so the quotes I have received at £26+vat per meter are not far off.
I have still got quite a bit of this in aprox 2meter lengths and I don't really want to take it with me to the next house so I will stick it up for sale.

Sounds similar to what I pay, if I go to one of the small one man bands I can get 2" air dried oak boards for £24 a cube, a bit more for 1" inch boards.

The second lot of photos are much better - got to agree with the other two guys above who think it's walnut, and English rather than American black. If so, give it a good look over for woodworm, it's very prone to that. It might be worth giving a slosh over with Cuprinol 5 star whether it's got worm holes or not, assuming you want to keep it.
