What woods this ?

I know that there are a few Woodies on this forum. I rescued these pieces from an 900 year old listed building I refurbished 5 years ago. I was intending to make something with them - but as usual they are still here and I am about to move onto the next project so I thought I would ebay them.
The first picture is I believe Teak, but I am not 100% sure it could be Iroko. The second pic is similar in colour to the first but the grain is much finer. To be fair I might be 100% wrong and it is something else entirely - any ideas?

Doesn't look like teak to me. Difficult to say what it is, but it looks like some sort of tropical hardwood - rescued from a 900 year old building it may have been, but I'm pretty sure it isn't 900 years old.
If you take a photo showing the end grain as well as the face grain it might explain why photos 1 and 3 appear different - you might just be looking at the grain from a different direction.
Is it freshly planed? It might be iroko. Could also be afromosia - what does it smell like when it's planed or sanded?

I don't think it's teak as it's not dark enough. To me it looks like ash.

If you get no joy I'll ask my woodturning chum for you ^_^

I would say the two to pictures do look like teak. Ash is much paler.
I have some naked veneer..Will try and get a picture.
Do you have any oil .. vegetable or peanut that would bring the grain out.

Looks like birch to me or red oak,definatly not teak as teak is darker than that.

First impressions are cherry. It's certainly not 900 year old wood though. It would be oak or elm I expect if it were older. It may help if there were a few more details about its provenance.

I've had some pinky Ash before, tree was a 130yr old local and a bit of it made a lovely fire surround.

Bit hard to tell from photos so my guess is its probably hardwood

It's probably important you find out for accuracy on any advert you place, I used to use Iroko for gunnels on fishing boats I built and it cost a fortune in the late 70's, it must be pricier than gold now...so if it is that you definitely want to shout it from the rooftops.

if its iroko look at the grain its all over the place. other wood grain is more consistent the same way

Very true:
It was a lovely wood when finished and stood up to the elements great but we cursed for England routing and shaping it, terrible grained stuff.

Could be loads of different species from the picture. You decide which is nearest. What was it being used for, holding something up or furniture or some other purpose ? I thought Maple or Pear from the grain but the colouring shows pink.

Iroko is reasonably priced now, I bought 6 cube about 3 years ago and it was about £38 a cube, it's teak that is like priced like gold.

Thanks for the input so far chaps, the pictures are a bit misleading in that the colour is much darker than they show. I will try to tale a couple with a better camera. I agree that these bits are not much more than 60 years old as the previous owner told me that their deceased father had added them when they were kids. Besides all the really old wood was oak.
The problem is that there is a big price difference between Teak and Iroko and I would hate to mislead anyone.

Thats only a small portion of different types of wood,there's tropics woods,american woods, ec ectera.
