My record No 25 is a bit on the heavy side, I wonder what weight savings are there, maybe a set of titanium jawsno mention of carbon fibre yet![]()

O-rings would certainly look way better than inner tube in the appearance stakes, but the problem is that the eye in the screw head is not the same diameter all the way through. It flares out from the centre line to an oval shape which is 26-27mm in one direction to around 20-22mm in the other direction. So any o-ring which fitted snugly on the tommy bar would be entirely swallowed up in the flare of the oval section.
I'd need a lot more than two. I'll take a photo tomorrow to illustrate the point.Use two O rings.
Somewhere I have selection pack of grommets of various sizes. I will investigate.Those grommets you get in some cable glands could be worth a look. Those which are like a tapered silicone affair.
