Levi Jeans used to be really cheap over there, I suppose you could class them as workwear.
Take some crxppy old walking/work boots with you and buy some nice new ones to bring back in their place.
I'm not a Strap on fan boy but the pry bars are meant to be good, check it's actually financial worth the effort first though.

I bought a Dodge Challenger a few years ago . . it didn't quite come back with me, arriving a few months later, UK customs and excise charging me rather a lot of money to let me have it when it did get here, complete with a few more items in the boot, including a tow bar for it. It provided me with a few slips and slides on the way to work this morning in the cold and slippery conditions.

You can buy Williams screwdrivers that are identical to Snap-On Hard Handle for half the price.
I bought some nice imperial sockets for buttons from a local motor factors, I also bought a set of sears damaged bolt removers, they have been very useful

Snap-on are rebranded Williams screwdrivers, because they own them, it's as simple as that, it's the Snap-on name that's expensive.....

~40 years ago, I used to get trips to the States on business and my number one personal priority was to get to a Sears department store (no Harbor Freight then). Sear's had a tool section that made your eyes water (lots of 'Craftman's' brand stuff). There was stuff there that I had never seen in the UK (and still haven't 40 years later) and I brought loads back. Sadly, I think Sears is long gone - could not compete with online and the sheds.

The Dickies work shirts I bought here in the past have been damn good.

I had a similar Alice in Wonderland introduction to the USA.
It was 45 years ago, in October 1978. I was on my first computer training course in America, learning about Control Data 300 MB disc drives. I finished a support trip in cold and snowy Sweden, got a US visa, took my first 747 flight, arrived to sunshine and palm trees at LA International, rented a V8 Ford/Mercury Monarch, drove to South Coast Plaza mall in Orange County, and entered the magical world of Sears Tool Department.....

I still have a ton of the old Craftsman tools, which have served me very well for many years. I don't have much experience with the new Craftsman tools. I've heard that Craftsman is now owned by Stanley Black & Decker, and Craftsman tools are sold by a number of different retail chains.

I've a few old craftsman tools, but sadly the craftsman that was is long gone. Most of it outsourced and quality cut to the bone long before Sears went bankrupt. It's now a budget brand for Stanley.

It begs the question that if companies are all going down the poor quality Chinese route or letting the accountants dictate the quality and I'm including Snap Off here too as I've heard many people saying they ain't what they were, where do you buy decent tools at a fair price now or in the future?

Not so sure we can beat that drum any more, them there Chinese will make anything to spec and are very good at it. There are very few secrets left in material composition these days, the down turn in quality of a brand will be more to do with the number crunchers at HO than the manufacturer or location of.

Way back in the early 1980s I managed to break a Craftsman flex handle (I won't tell you how I managed to do that ), and when I brought it into Sears, they not only apologized to me about it breaking, but handed me a new flex handle before I even had time to ask for a replacement.

There aren't too many companies these days that still offer great customer service, but there are still a few, and when I find them I give them repeat business.
