what to look for in a Pillar Drill

As far as I know, for a long time a lot of the Sealey stuff was imported from the Eastern Bloc and many of the machine tools, though simple and basic, were reasonably well made and very good value for money.

I have a Sealey trolley jack which has been in regular use for nearly 40 years and has been very good - that was made in Japan, so no surprise!

That Flott is an interesting machine - looks very heavy duty. Infinitely variable speed, Flott are German I believe.
If it isn't knackered that could be a nice little bargain.

Yes, this is Germany. And they are just as overvalued in the domestic market as Alzmetall.

I'm hunting big drill Camel Back. Most recently I missed out for 125 euros + self pickup. A giant 2.8 meters tall, with an MK4 hole in the spindle, with automatic feed, in perfect condition. ~ 900 kg weighing the smallest.

Sometimes there are very difficult communications with the Germans, they answer and then disappear for weeks. And then bam! and someone else became the master.
