What to coat ali beer mug with

I've a jug I made a while back, after a couple of days drinking, all I can taste is the aluminium.

What would be the best stuff to coat the inside (only) with.

Steep in Pusser Red Label rum, with 4 table spoons of lime juice. or equal amount on Shrub.

Sip the see if metallic taste is gone
Repeat as required.

4 to be correct. It holds 1 7/8pints. But anybody pulling a pint knows that, it's not a pint. I only take it to one place for four days constant beer. Problem is after 2 days drinking all I can taste is metal. And believe me it doesn't stop in it long

Teflon would be the usual thing to make it food safe, anything acidic in contact with aluminium is not good to consume,
I've had stuff armourcoated (posh name for teflon) at surface technology in leeds but its not a cheap process and would likely be out of all proportion to the value of the mug,
You could make a stainless liner for it, give your arms a workout at the same time as supping

Were a friend works in a pie factory they use a food safe lacquer or vanish.
He did say in some cases they do use a thin wipe with bee's wax.

Quite a long time ago, reports started appearing from the medical fraternity about the health risks of using pans made from aluminium, and the link to alzheimers/dementia

Apparently on brain examinations (and I’m assuming via autopsy as it was too early for MRI etc), the aluminium deposits could be observed as blue traces in the brains of these deceased “patients”.

When steel spoons are used for stirring in aluminium pans, the scrapes & scratches seen on the side of the pans mean the aluminium has entered the food chain-very minute amounts over a long period of time. I don’t know if the theory/understanding is still held today.

Personally I use a glass pan mainly. In the pans made from ally or stainless I always use a plastic spoon.

We have limited choice about the can that Stella comes in, but I tend to find I don’t usually need to stir it.

Not the best material for a drinking vessel. Anodizing might help. Have a look at camping utensils and see how they're finished. As a start, a good boil wash might take away some of the taste... But you may well still have the health implcations...

I think drinks cans are lacquered on the inside.

I have a pewter tankard I got as a present years ago - gave up using it because like S Dr I was getting the metallic after-taste.
