What lawnmower ?

my walk behind is an ally Honda that gotta be 30 years old......tiny bit smokey on start up but uses no oil.....
For a ride-on, had a big Stiga, horizontal B/S for years.......perfect but was patching the patches on the tray in the end.....
Then bought a mid size Toro Time Cutter.....bit heavy on Juice, 18hp B/S single....but fast and sweet to drive......couldn't keep the wife off it.....about €7,000....ouch.....
the Front lawn/meadow/orchard was over an acre and cut twice a week for 7 years till we sold the place.....

the other 7 Acres I had a 3m wide topper pulled by a Massey 399........
it all depnds on what and where.....
theres a big call back for 22-23 Hondas walk behinds at the mo..........
If I had my time over again I would have bought a 3cyl Kubota tractor/mower.......
PS, still use the Toro and the Honda...

I'm not seeing something here.
It's a walk behind mower. regardless of the hours per year it racks up, the wheels should not be falling off.
Is he running with it ? Ramming kerbs ?

My local grass cutter uses Etesia and has for years.

My neighbour here is a retired garden maintenance guy and swears by Etesia for ride-on mowers.

Everyone round here is either hayter or honda. With variable forward speed. Including the big commercial companies mowing 8hrs a day and employing any one that walks in the door. So I can't see them having an easy life

Low paid employees yes they abuse things, but OP sounds like an owner/operator situation.

So did mine 'till I pulled the head off, ported it, stuck an offset timing key in, a bigger carb and and a proper intake trumpet and airbox.
Now it will just spin the wheels.
I should have just bought another mower the amount of time it had...

Not Hyundai - you should have asked before

Decent engines, but crap mowers IMHO.

Commercial grade Honda, John Deere or Toro would be my recommendation, I used to service these for a living & any of those 3 makes are what stood up to the abuse of daily use by contractors.
They also do domestic grade mowers so be careful what you buy.

I have a rover mower, a semi-commercial mower that has given me good service. Then I was given an old Toro commercial mower & once I got it running it replaced the rover. It has a powerful Kawasaki engine, cuts very long grass with ease, rams the grass bag full & is a lot lighter to use.
