Looking at first pic I’d say it’s a pike for sure, though it could just be a bit of distortion from the water.

Second pic isn’t so convincing …

Easy way to tell if pike or carp is to go back around 7pm when its cooling down with some chum mixer or other pet biscuits. Warbies white bread even and chuck it in,, i use them myself and swear y them to catch carp lol. if carp then you will soon tell.

I can't tell for sure with those pics but it's highly likely to be a carp if it was just cruising about. I've just spent the weekend watching dozens of them ignoring every tactic I tried to catch them.

I was watching half a dozen of them avoiding anglers whilst eating the bread some kids were throwing in for the geese and ducks. I am easily amused.

For something with a brain the size of a walnut they can sometimes be quite canny. i did manage to catch a few over the weekend. So I don't mind them sunbathing especially as they have not long spawned.

Mat wins a prize 3 years after the fact. Quite by chance I had a visitor to my place this evening and I was recounting a story where our dog Pixie ran into that pond when she was a puppy. Straight away he said "You were lucky you got her back my mate released his pet catfish into that pond when it out-grew its 8 foot tank."

The shape of the head makes me think it’s a Pike. If it had a scarf on i would be 100% confident in my answer
