After a six week hiatus I finally got to go paragliding with two of my best mates.
ok only a few minutes in the air. But is is probably like heroin addicts after a drugs famine.
my first go at making a video on my xmas camera.
The first few seconds shows the miracle.
I can set this contraption up, I know that the random looking collection of strings will do their jobs and save my life as I chuck myself off a cliff.
Ok tiny flights, but hell we flew!!

Looks scary/exhilarating/breath taking all in one go! Im not a big fan of heights but that is one thing i would like to try one day. Just how high can you safely go on one of those things?

Oh and today i sealed the deal on a new house, met with a potentially new big customer and got @Tinbasherdan working with me for the foreseeable on Fridays and saturdays while he completes his college course. A good day if i do say so

As high as you can go. I have managed a three thousand + feet in Wales. The big boys do much more.
The dangerous bit is the last few feet as you come down.
My third lesson looked like this. My Mum almost cried.
I was horrified when I saw the photo. I was under radio control and happily floating about the place thinking 'Am I supposed to be doing this?'

Today I went to a birthday party at my neighbours house. His wife is an good cook and he is an excellent baker. I had the delicious chicken lasagne, followed by raspberry rum cheesecake and lemon drizzle sponge, of course there were a couple of Guinness consumed followed by Spanish brandy. Lovely mid week evening. The cheese cake

It looks like fun, whenever I use my ladder I always think of a friend when I was at work who was no good at all with heights.We were painting a 25ft tall wall in the factory and when I said it was his turn up the ladder he said " I'll go as high as you like as long as I can keep one foot on the floor"

On my second flight my instructor said 'let go of the controls' WHAT!!! is he mad. After being persuaded I let go for a split second, then a whole second and realised that it flies itself. The whole thing is pendulum balanced so it is naturally stable.
Steering and control is by pulling two lines, one for left one for right and both to slow down or gain a bit of lift. if it all goes wrong, let go. well lift your arms up and let it sort itself out. The saying I was taught was 'Tits up? Hands up' easy to remember.

Thats interesting, i would probably be more inclined to give it a go so long as i could control the height i go to. Im not scared of heights but im not a fan of them either. So long as i was in control then i'll give anything ago. For instance, i wouldnt jump out of a plane as im just relying on the guy that packs the rucksack to save my life, but i will go over the mountain section of the Isle of Man TT circuit at full chat because its me thats holding the throttle

Book yourself a taster day, it involves running about like a lunatic, getting in a strop then get airborne for a few yards. At least was how mine went. Once tasted addicted. There will be a school near to you.
Loads of pilots are also bikers. A similar thing with instability, control and freedom, but i three dimensions.
