What bugs are going around at the moment?

I've got this amazing tickly cough, I've had for a while, super irritating, once you start, you keep coughing, till you drink some water, I prefer an alcoholic throat lubricant, preferential.

My smell and memory are mangled since Rona in 2020.

I'm squarely putting the blame there, not my amateur alcoholic lifestyle choices.

Strange, I’ve had a similar cough for weeks, topped off this week with a dose of suspected food poisoning which has knocked me for six, took 5 days to get over it.

Had exactly the same for a good 3 weeks.. had covid twice and the symptoms are the same..both myself and the Mrs had it. We both tested and negative so me thinks a different strain. It's knocks the hell out of ya

New strain of Corona virus or just something else, I dont know.

I’m not sad, it meant a trip to doctor Katia on Friday, took my shirt off, rubbed gel on my chest for the heart monitor and gave me a good going over

Yes it was awful to be honest. Had plenty of colds and flu over the years like most of us but I have never had nowt like that.

Strangely, daughter had a chesty cough for a couple of weeks and wife said she felt a bit tight chested for a bit, but both said otherwise they felt fine and basically ignored it. Whereas it's hit me like a ton of bricks

Covid by the sounds of it. It has not gone away, and it does affect OLD people more !

I can't have any of the vaccines, they make me ill.

I'll do a test in the morning if I can find one. Haven't bothered so far because I haven't been anywhere and it doesn't feel like last time I had it but I suppose I ought to know, as should my doctor I suppose.

I am actually getting worried about my mental state. I can't seem to remember anything. I forget what I am saying halfway though a sentence. I think of something I have to do, and go to get something to do it, then forget what it was. I cant seem to multi task now either. All this has come on since having Covid.

I had memory problems some years back after being given gabapentin for back pain. They did a brain scan that showed I still had one and it looked normal anyway so stopped the gabapentin and everything went back to normal. Very frightening at the time, large chunks of time completely missing. Memory is not brilliant now, but that's age and trying to remember too many things in my head...

I relate to that, with my wife / boss especially, or anyone frankly.

Then I work in tourism, between the phone calls and clients I can't remember anyone, names in one ear out the other.

Your not alone, don't know what gabapentin is though.

It was originally used for epilepsy but they discovered it was quite good for nerve pain. You take it every day religiously and come off it slowly. Turns out that memory loss is a known side effect...

But since 2020, my memory, is compromised, and we had Rona in March that year, then quite possibly twice after that.
