What automotive impact driver?

Had my retirement do last night and included in my gifts was a £250 screwfix voucher

I acquired a Bosch GDX18V -180 a few years ago and have almost never used it as it does not produce enough torque. I used to work for Bosch so most of my tools are Bosch as I got good discount.

So am tempted to get something better for working on cars, so a compromise between size and power.

Or is a Milwaukee or Dewalt so much better its worth investing in one plus batteries and charger?

I love my Milwaukee M12 fuel impact wrench. Tiny, powerful and lasts ages on the battery. 3 led lights in the perfect position.

Assuming you mean wrench, I know and love the Makita DTW700 mid torque. As above, many love the compact 12v Milwaukee impacts.

I just bought the M12 milwaukee. Very nice. Compliments its bigger m18 brother by getting in smaller spaces!

I can’t comment on the Bosch as only have their measuring tools.

I might I am a Milwaukee fanboy and it’s for good reason. My first Milwaukee power tool was the M18 high torque gun and that is how become poorer but happy in my tool addiction.
The M18 High Torque is a beast and hasn’t been defeated yet. It’s probably a similar size to the Bosch you linked to but that is part of the problem as you’ll not get it in a lot of tight places. I bought the M12 stubby torque gun and that got used for 90% of the work I was doing on the Shogun. I replaced that with the latest generation and it’s got even more power and I've only used the big M18 once since then.
Last weekend I had the emergency phone call from my brother who’d come to halt whilst changing the front shocks on his Navara. He’d already broken a breaker bar and his neighbour was having with breaker bar when I arrived. The neighbour mocked the M12 Stubby torque gun until it got nut off. The rest of the job was much easier with the torque gun.

I have that exact model Tom. Been good enough for what I needed it for - very seized strut bolts on my V70, wheel nuts to save my knackered body, stuff like that.

Compared to my friend’s 3/4” drive Milwakee (sp?) it’s not as pokey by a whack but that’s not fair as this is a half inch drive.

For what it’s worth I’m on the ’free’ battery Bosch did in the promo when I got it. Worth checking what they have on now. It’s a 4Ah battery and not Pro so don’t know if the technology makes a difference or not…

thats a good price, am guessing it is quite new, cannot see it on the Screwfix website unfortunately

It's the gen 3 which I think is fairly new. I only have one battery but it's more than enough for a bit of bent Mini fettling You need the 5ah high output one to get the full power out of these not the 6ah standard ones.

I got one of those, plus an envelope with some cash
and told that I was was so anti-social that they hadn't got a clue what to get me.
