I made the missing parts for the dividing head tailstock base I got from @Martin-Sy - the ram and nut that do the workholding.

I made the nut first by boring and tapping it for a 1/2" - 10TPI LH acme thread. The original is 3/4" - 6TPI but I had this tap so that's what it got. Finished it off with a bit of mediocre knurling. Then I found some 3/4" round and turned a 1/2" - 10TPI thread into that for the nut to screw onto. The steel was too soft for making a centre so I found an old 1/2" HSS end mill and turned a 60-degree point onto it, which didn't turn down to a sharp point so I finished it with a grinder. Then I bored the tailstock ram 1/2" diameter and pressed the HSS point into it.

For the little bit of milling I do on the South Bend I used to put the endmills in one of the Jacobs headstock chucks I got with the lathe.
Decided to make a MT3 weldon type endmill holder and drawbar for the spindle, so first job for the taper attachment.
Quite happy with te result. Only 0.005mm runout( well less than 0.01 anyway) on the endmills.
Don't know what grade steel it is exactly, but it's from an old LandRover 110 halfshaft so should be something like EN19 I believe.

Made a top cover for my parking brake earlier this week and thought the brake reservoir looked a bit plain in comparison.

So cut a couple of blocks of alu and into the Chiron they went.

First side milled.

Because the sides are all curved I had to make a jig to hold them for machining the other side.

Second side done and pre anodising.

Post anodising

Brought home and laser etched.

And fitted to the bike

I made this hose connector 303 stainless , was 40mm round stock 300mm long , drilled it from both sides with 28mm drill , then turned out the notches , came out allright

Did a prototype footpeg didn't have any Aluminium so as it is just a test I did it in Acetal, well top half anyway, will do the rest tomorrow hopefully.

Also made a couple of jigs up for doing the back end of it.

Went to anodise the jigs and found the boiling pan (and my plasma table) to be rather cool
