What are you machining?

I machined some holes bigger.

Just need to add some 6mm keyways, but I don't have the correct size broach bushing, and my mill is currently out of action as I borrowed the motherboard out it to test something else, so they'll have to wait until suppliers are open again :/

Since the required broach bushing got delivered today, and I needed a distraction, I put some slots in the pulleys -

Just need to find some suitable grubscrews now, and make some more holes.

Fitted the collet chuck to the Cnc lathe.

Collet chucks are worth their weight in gold, aren't they. So much better to work with than a standard chuck.

I wouldn't go that far, chucks are heavy and gold is expensive, I think I'd rather have the cash.

Bit of a waste of material as I only had a lump of 4" x 2" aluminium and the part is only 20mm thick but it was spare and already had been paid for so...

First side done.

Turned over and had to face off 30mm, should have chopped on the bandsaw I suppose but I just wasted it instead

Didn't have any suitable Acetal sheet so just used some 140mm dia.

Shoved it in the lathe and parted off then faced and engraved the other side, bit of chatter at the ends but it is hardly seen in real life and will get scratched up anyway.

Still need to anodise the aluminium but that will have to wait until next weekend.

I just like to personalise like most bikers do but mine is extra special as no one else has the same parts as they are one off

Nope, a chain fin or whatever you call it and nope, not going to polish as I want the machining marks to show.
Here is a footpeg and brake pedal I made, I reckon the machining marks add to the look but maybe that is just me

Yes, exactly that, original below.

No need for heel plates on the AT, long way from the chain on it.
Machining marks sort of follow the insert and will just stay that way.
