Mate I could not burn something I had to pay out for, I would sooner turn the central heating on! I guess I will not be able to collect/process my own forever though

Just picked up a small echo. I am very impressed so far, build quality is very good. However I do love a stihl for ruggedness, I have a couple.

what one mate the same as in my link?
I'm sure alot of these Stihl comments are of 5+ year old machines as the current batch definitely don't seem rugged
All Stihl equipment I have tried seems to have gone down hill
There new polesaws are made of cheese as are the newest long handle hedge trimmers
There is stuff where I work that has fallen apart before the tools they have been bought to replace have broken

Its a shame you guys dont live a little closer, we put out hundreds of tons of it every year free for the taking and its all cut up into manageable sizes.

This may be of interest to some they are kits of every part you need to build old school Stihl and Husqvarna saws
There are a whole rang of saws and you get the entertainment of building it
And a fair saving over oem

My guess is somewhere near Normandy, though not the French one, I used to live round there a very long time ago...
I think they must hold a UK stock not seen anything about import taxes in all the stuff I've read also the delivery times seem very short if they are coming from China
Even with taxes they are still very cheap considering how good the reviews seem to be

Building one of those chainsaws would be great for me
In many occasions I imagined to buy one but I did not yet
Also because I don't use chainsaws , I do repair them but I've probably used a chainsaw twice in my entire life
I might put one of those chainsaws in the "To Do" list
I've to figure out which one take
The MS180 isn't worth because I could buy the original for 190 euros at my local dealer
The MS200T should be a great project
The MS360 as same would probably be the best choice because it's probably the biggest saw I could use
The MS440 was the original idea but maybe is little bit to big and powerful for me
Obviously if I take one , my choice will be the orange and white version
Would be great if they will sell also other kits like Weed trimmers , blowers etc
i think a lot of those farmertec / huzl clone saws have a lot of fan boys because there cheep and its something to tinker with i dont think meany of them do much work with them , i got given a few by a mate who had a punt on some, there allright when they work but they do go wrong quick
at some point ive got a shed load of windblown to deal with and quite a few of them are hung up s well thats going to be a fun game, might have to get my grubby mits on some cutting charges that was very quick effecive last time ( as the charges were free ) and good fun

With the big name saws you get refinement, less vibration, lighter and generally more reliability. Nothing wrong with some of the cheaper saws but they are probably not the sort thing you would want in your hands for fifty hours a week.
