If your referring to the braided flexi, it is pre assembled in the cistern, it's the link between the iso valve and the cistern level valve, there was no fitting involved it came from the factory, it split from constant pressure changes, the braid gave up allowed the rubber tube to rub on the frayed bit and it went pop, it failed due to the stupid u shape it is forced to be in and probably skimping on a quality part.

Both, law of averages says they must fail occasionally. I’ve never had an issue personally, and I used to fit the bum wash versions more than the simple ones, more pipes, internal and external connections. Only issues I saw were fitters not reading instructions
I just found the whole cistern to be cheap and nasty, the steel frame was good quality but that's where it ended.

Fitted many of the Gerberit and Grohe cisterns, yes there are some issues like any mass produced part, but on the whole the quality is high.
Did have one failure out of the box, but I understand the operative in the factory was taken outside and shot for dissent when it was reported

Over the weekend I just volunteered my "union jack", tile cutting services to help my niece with her shower area. It's about 1200x800. Her tiles are a tad over 600x600.
They imo had the opportunity to get it so right but don't "plan" hence make it up as they go along.
The shower "tray" is concrete cast to falls like mine but not as flat. All goes to a long linear drain. Should have set it lower but instead have formed an upstand with houses bricks they now have to tile over / around. Considering they dug down and built the floor back up...doh!
The two 800mm, facing walls are normal plasterboard but plastered and painted. Not even the green, moisture resistant stuff either! The 1200mm wall is rendered Celcon block. She has tanked the tray and internal corners but not done the rest of the walls. Two big tiles together won't quite cover the "tray" length". For the sake of adding another 12.5mm thick plasterboard they could of sorted it. Using a 10mm multipanel with edge and corner trims. God nows how well that will stick to the pb walls now they're plastered and painted! Told them to ditch the bottom trim and bed the multipanel on loads of clear CT1 then run a bead of silicone that can be periodically renewed when it gets tatty. Meant to take some pics, will do so later.
Could well be but geberit are a Swiss multinational that manufacture all over Europe and China.

Get this, I've even offered them my leftover tub of tanking membrane. Can't see it'll be an issue to mix this Mapei (grey) with my AqualSeal (blue). You can lead a horse to water etc!
Seem set on relying on the multipanel.
