Hi all looking for some advice from the knowledgeable folks on this form. I has an sip hg3000 mig welder capable of 29v 250amp with a duty cycle of 60%. I am current taking on more heavy duty work that is requiring me to weld 10 and 12mm plate. Its my understanding that my machine in regular short circuit mig won't have the power to weld this material properly. My question is can I achieve spray transfer with my machine I am using coogar 5 welding gas and it has 92 % argon so I believe it is suitable for spray transfer welding I also have a propane torch set up and will be pre heating before all critical welds. Is it possible to achieve good strong welds with my current set up or should I be looking out for a more powerful 2nd hand machine for the heavier stuff? My workshop is only single phase but supplied by 16mm swa and welder has designated 32amp supply. Any help advice on how I should go about this many thanks
