Welder with bridged fuse

I always use a mig tip in my welder plugs they are 150amp slow blow.
Never had one blow yet.

Plenty of big-name brands supply them with either bare wires or european plugs that don't fit any UK outlets and I'd think they would be clued up on the legal requirements.

Lidl (etc) also sell stuff with 16a plugs fitted so there can't be a requirement for them to be supplied with a fuse either.

So, on that basis, you might well find that, if yours is not required to be supplied with a fused 13a plug then that's actually what you have got. Ie, a technically unfused plug.

I'd guess the reason for it coming like that is because the schuko plug is more common worldwide than the British 3-pin and the schuko is good for 15a so it gets bodged for the relatively small number of uk units they sell?

Still, not good practice.
Anyway, I'd think the fact that it's stopped working would be a better reason to send it back than the fuse(or not) that it has fitted?
I very much doubt having the correct 13a fuse would have stopped it going faulty anyway..
