I've done that also, but...
The particulate stuff drops out, so the solvent looks clear, but I think the actual binders remain dissolved.
Have you tried dripping some of your "cleaned" solvent on a mirror? I'd be surprised if there is not some residue.
Which may, or may not be acceptable, depending on the job, of course.
I do this as well & the 'cleaned' thinners is good enough for washing out brushes & spraying equipment but I always use new stuff to mix paint.
Someone once told me that 'gunwash' is recycled paint thinners.
