Warco lathe wiring??

Hi i have just bought 2 warco lathes, grinder, polisher and a big old union pillar drill and its all three phase im only really interested in getting the lathe up and running at the minute but its a three phase 400v motor and im only running standard electric.

Has anyone got any ideas on what i need to do to get them running i have added a couple of pics one of the lathe and one of the wiring basically who i bought it of went into a collage and just snipped the wires.

Your best bet will be a rotary phase converter, that will enable you to run all of your machines with one device.

i was looking at this as i was watching a warco lathe on ebay which was running of one of these???

a static will work ok as long as u set them for required hp and its 415 volt output

I have not got a clue even if these machines work cannot see why they wont, i want to put a plug on it but have not got a clue how to do it and it looks like the machine has been hard wired into the electrics and thats why they just chopped the wires? i have just got intouch with some one and they have quoted me £40.00 to fit a plug??? im starting to wish i never bothered

there takin the pee the plugs only have 3 wires and an earth and only cost about 5 quidif the wires are wrong it will only go backwards and u just swap over any 2 wires to reverse it u just wire a 3 core and earth flex to them

Once you are ready post up some decent pictures and we can point you in the right direction.
You only need a few plugs, cable glands and cable. Its doesnt need to be expensive. Looks like decent kit worth getting sorted.

Once you are ready post up some decent pictures and we can point you in the right direction.
You only need a few plugs, cable glands and cable. Its doesnt need to be expensive. Looks like decent kit worth getting sorted.

the look ok but there is damage to the machines were they have just ragged them about with the fork lift truck daft things like handles broken and dented cabinets

I have just opened up the isolation box and there appears to be 4 black and an earth running from the switch up into the electric board on the lathe???

ok 3 lives and a neutral theres brown sleeves on the incoming cable

The blue in the pic may be a neutral for a light. i would expect the lathe on its own to just require 3 lives (probably the core numbered 4 is the neutral)

neutral is the blue unmarked the other blue has a brown sleeve on it marking it as a live

im not bothered about having the isolation switch on it because im going to be plugging into a converter am i best removing the isolation switch and then it may be clearer to explain to me how to wire just direct to a plug

might be easier for u to just leave it in switched on as the outgoing cables are all black and u would need to check them out with a meter to see where there connected the inputs are sleeved so don't take them off till u put a new flex on

So im i right in saying that there is 3 lives (2brown wires 1 blue with brown sleeve) 1 neutral (the blue wire which is block connected to the black) and an earth?

sorry for all the questions, but can i wire it up wrong in the new plug as there is 3 lives or doesn't it matter?
