and non of those are the same, ive looked all over and cant find anything similar, its a real strange one, i wonder if its a one offThat number on the flywheel is matching the one on the stator plate so they do belong together. I don,t have it to hand but it is FR something. I have no idea what the very worn number / letters are on the engine though. I am sure if I could work this out I may have a chance of working it out. I have moved it back to the back of my garage for now, I can only take so much

and am now trying to get my Speed Twin to run better I had similar problems with my 1934 Douglas bantam (very rare). Shorts in points lead, very weak spark, mounted condenser on the frame. At the moment I've fitted a coil and battery, brilliant spark, bypassed the mag entirely, I need to get the rotor /stator tested and the mag coil
I've got a couple of engines running by using the mag to produce LT to supply an external coil.
To get enough voltage, I had to strip off the original HT winding and wind on more tranny wire for the LT.
I've got photos and a video of it all on a villiers (iirc) but I think it's on photobucket, which is a pain since they 'upgraded' with all the adverts and rubbish...
If there's any interest though, I'll reassemble it into something almost intelligible

Have a look round old scooter parts as some happy coincidences have been found where parts can be used for different makes in the flywheel and stator department.
