This is to encourage those of us who still wonder why electricity doesn't flood out of unused sockets and lie around in puddles on the floor giggling like a schoolgirl...
I bought an Invertek 2.2kw inverter, probably twice the price, £220, of a generic Chinese one but they seem well thought of. The instructions re programming look initially intimidating, but are actually very clear and, helpfully, not in Chinglish. My budget is, shall we say, challenged, but various leads for a cheaper but sound alternative didn't work out. So, time to pay up and look cheerful.
Conclusion? Read the instructions carefully! Just one frustrating moment when I couldn't get further up the list of parameters (the bulk of which you don't need to change). A rereading of the instructions showed that a code had to be confirmed first.
And that's it. Powered up and away it went. I added a pendant control from ebay which came with a wiring schedule. It all worked first time.
So children, don't be scared, just stay off the floor with wet feet....
