Yes my mistake I should have said furthest away. After boring you should set the rotor clearance by removing the end plate dowels and laying the rotor on feeler strip but I don't normally bother as they are quite a rough old pump.

Not sure this has dowels, just a machined register on the end plates.

Here's the bore,

The marks are just to the right and down from the torch spot. Barely feel them with your finger tbh so I think I'll just put it back together as it.

Well that it decided, back together it goes then!! Can't possibly be any worse than it was with 3 stuck vanes, 2 collapsed bearings, seals that well... Weren't sealing, and a diverter valve that badly needed lapping in.

Seen alot worse than that running milking parlours!

Bolt it back together, make sure the vanes are dropping free and get it checked if needed.

do you know lpm it should be producing?

How abrasive is human excrement? I guess it depends on how much sand(wiches) you eat. Could building it up with Belzona work?

With regards to skimming, measure or estimate what you would need to remove and ask the manufacturer's technical department, mentioning that you have consulted their own service material and it does not contain the information you require. Sending an email does not cost anything and the worst that will happen is they will not reply.

It's not surprising the corner edges of the vane will wear a little & make marks on the end plates ,the rotor will be ever so slightly out of perfect balance and thus will not spin perfectly true due to the tollerances in the bearings .
