at home tig welding the front plate could last years. in the feild doing my work it wouldnt last a couple weeks. the part that needs replace the most they made it cost 2x or 3x more than needed. why put a huge front plate like that. theres no good reason for it. the designers should be ashamed of their self.

most welding masks you dont even need to use. you can just look and see the designer only got paid in peanuts and very little r&d was done. and some have fancy light up screens ? why. is it a smart phone or welding mask

Apparently the duck bill interferes with your tie.... you cant get into posh places without a tie

So in other words once you are hot and sweaty from welding, and flip the mask for some respite, it traps more heat in leading to frustration. whereby you throw the mask down, and have to buy a new front glass as you have just scratched it ??
