Hi everyone
I'm in lockdown almost 20 days ,my brain is starting falling a part but my mind's opening .
I have some twist drill bits that don't cut properly or for nothing
I tried to sharpen them but I got 2 out of 10 of them enough acceptable sharpened
A 4 and a 9.5mm bits
So I would like to receive advice about the perfect cutting geometry for steel since is what I work the most .
And I need some advice about making a sharpener
I was thinking to make something like a little lathe
And head stock using an angle grinder spindle and housing
A bed using some angle iron
A carriage using angle iron an flat stock
A tool holder where to fit a drill chuck to hold the bits always at the same angle (twisting the bit will change the angle of the cutting edge ) .
A threaded rod will move the carriage , allowing to grind the tip and use different lengths of bits
Hope in some help .
Once I have enough information I can make a drawing and a prototype.
