Tv failed

Have an oldish but adequate 32" panasonic tv. Possibly 10-15 years old. Working this morning. Power turns on but this afternoon has no picture, no menus, just blank screen but can see the backlight is on.

Dont really want a new one. May open it up and hopefully it will just be a failed capacitor or something easy to repair.

Any recomendations for a good replacement, similar 32-40"?

My LG must be 15 years old at least , if it ever fails I wouldn't consider any other make as a replacement .

i dought any new tv will last as long as older tvs now adays the parts in them carp the leds fail for a passtime

tech does inprove but you got to use it

ive got a hd tv we still watch the standard tv in the mornings come down stairs and put channel 3 on to get the hd chanel you have to press 103 or 3 for the standard so its easyer to go to 3

Crack it open, might be the power supply, if you have a rumage on the net you may even find a specific component kit for not much money

Both brain dead, but its nice to not think, and I really enjoy four in a bed when everyone gets on well and no nastiness restores my faith in humanity

We recently bought a 32" Panasonic. It seems to be one of the few with a high screen resolution for that size, most other brands start at 43" for 1920 x 1080. However, the colour balance needed a lot of tweaking before it looked less washed out or over saturated, it "forgets" our wifi periodically and it responds to the remote control at glacial speed (are they all like that now?). The jury is definitely out on this one.

LG all of the way. They make the panels for most other TV manufacturers, who repackage them with cheaper boards/hardware.

We've got some Czech Chiq TV, it's huge, wasn't expensive €300 ? It's plugged by cable into the internet box, don't watch alot of TV, but for Netflix and YouTube it's great, we don't have a tv aerial as French TV is pants frankly.

nope, just Panasonics ****e software. buy lg. panasonic is trading on its name and has for over 20 years. they're crap.
