Gents I'm getting a little problem with the above.
I face the first side off.
I remove from the chuck and put the faced off side back in and face off the second side. All going good.
I then take a light skim off the diameter to make it true and remove and put the trued off face and diameter back in the chuck. All good and all turning true. Problem occurs when matching the finishes. It always ends up ever so slightly raised one side of the diameter and ever so slightly under on the other side. Doesn't happen all the time and it's not a lot but my finishes now are so clean it stands out like a sore thumb.
Does that make sense. How do you rotate the work piece in the chuck to machine it's full length and get the two finishes to match up perfect every time?
